WHAT IS HOLISITIC HEALTH?
Anne Munson defines holistic health as looking at the entire spectrum of an individual’s health—mind, body, and spirit.
How do you define your holistic health?
The health and productivity of our mind and body are functions of our brain health and the free flow of our spirit. We use our minds to interpret and create the present moment, our day, and the life we deeply desire. Many are unaware of modern developments like chemicals that are prevalent in our food, homes, workplace, and outdoor air and how this greatly impacts the brain’s health. The technology based world also greatly affects our spirit. It’s critical to lessen these challenges with awareness, nourishment and activities which keep the mind open, aware and working for our best interests.
MIND
BODY
Our body’s health is all about how we nourish it, move it and rest it. Additionally, it’s health is a function of our mind’s health and our spirit’s peace and joy. There are basic healthy eating principles and yet the best foods for each person can still differ. This has to do with the current state of health, age, and one’s food preferences. What’s consistent is the quality of the food we eat is key for the body’s health and renewal. The brain, as part of the body, requires its own specific nourishment. New information on the brain’s ability to regenerate itself and positively impact our body, mind and spirit is exciting.
SPIRIT
The foundation of your lifelong health is the state of your Spirit: living out who you truthfully are, what you deeply desire, and how you most happily and peacefully exist in this world. We grow up defining ourselves in relation to others, to institutions, to culture and may not learn who we are through a self-directed, self-accepting, self-discovery process. “Know Thyself” and nourishing that spirit, while nourishing the body is the starting point that makes all the difference in reaching our health goals.
Holistic Health Coaching
Holistic health coaching is a form of personalized coaching that focuses on the whole person, rather than just specific areas of their health. These coaches look at solutions to your health challenges in terms of the whole picture of your life in body, mind, spirit, energy and its impact on your health and lifestyle choices.
The goal is to help clients feel healthy as they define it and to find solutions for the personal challenges that have prevented them from getting there in the past. It comes down to creating sustainable healthy habits that fit in and work well in their unique person and lifestyle. This may involve exploring nutrition, exercise, stress management techniques, social life scenarios, motivation, sleep, and other factors that affect overall health.
Holistic health coaches use a variety of tools and techniques to support their clients, including goal setting, motivational tools, behavior change strategies, mindfulness practices, and so much more. They work collaboratively with their clients to create personalized plans that take into account their unique goals, challenges, and preferences.
Overall, holistic health coaching is about empowering individuals to take charge of their health and well-being by making changes that support their overall health and happiness, and they are able to sustain for their lifestyle and for life.
How It Works —
The process of working with a holistic health coach is designed to be a collaborative and empowering experience that helps you take control of your health and well-being. By working with a coach, you can develop a personalized wellness plan that addresses your unique needs and goals, and you can receive ongoing support and guidance to help you make positive lifestyle changes and achieve lasting results.
-
The first step is a free 30 minute initial consultation where we determine if my approach to health & wellness and my coaching style is a good fit for you and your goals. I will explain the process, coaching options, pricing, and answer all your questions. If you’re ready to begin, I will email you a health assessment and an agreement of our work together.
-
Our first meeting will be a thorough review of your current health status, lifestyle habits, and your perspective of how you got to where you are today. After we meet, I will use all this input and information to develop a personalized wellness plan tailored entirely to your current health situation and future goals.
-
On our second meeting, you will receive your Wellness Plan and we will review it. If you want to make adjustments, we will do that. Then we will decide the specific, measurable goals that are milestones along the road to achieving the health you desire. These targets will be realistic and achievable, prioritized, and aligned with your values. You will be excited for them, and we will celebrate them as you achieve them!
-
Next, for the 90 Day Program, I will develop and deliver your Customized Health & Wellness Plan, and both programs come with a Tracking Journal outlining daily, weekly and monthly key actions, motivational strategies, and milestones along the way to achieve them. In the action plan rollout phase it is essential to your success to check in regularly with your coach. I will support you the entire way and provide fresh perspectives to old challenges that will help you overcome them once and for all.
-
Changing habits we have had for a long time is not easy work to do alone. Regular check-ins with me are essential in this phase - you decide how often. We tend to put our needs last and talk ourselves out of taking positive steps to health. The world is full of negative reinforcement everywhere. Living with others who don’t share your new health habits is challenging. This phase is where the rubber meets the road and you actually make the changes you need to make to create the health, energy, and longevity you desire.
-
At regular intervals, you and I will evaluate your progress and adjust your plan as needed to ensure that you are continuing to make progress toward your goals. We may need to modify your wellness plan, or adjust goals based on your progress and feedback.
