Spirit

Feeding our body and caring for our brain is one thing, it’s how we survive.  But for optimal health and a fulfilling life, we must nourish our spirit as well.

Spirit is the key pillar to Health Renewal Coaching.  It is incorporated into your personal wellness plan and throughout our coaching time together.  What do I mean by spirit and how does it relate to your health body and mind?

I view spirit as the combination of two things:

  1. The vital force that gives life to your body, and

  2. The expression of your heart and soul when you are listening to it and honoring it.

Spirit as the body’s vital force is described in Chinese medicine as chi, in Ayurvedic medicine as prana, and indigenous tribes worldwide each have their own words for it in their indigenous languages.  All three of these traditional medicine practices consider spirit or one’s life force in diagnosing and treating individuals in their healing applications.

Spirit, as an expression of your heart and soul, is that intangible part of you referred to as your essence, the truly authentic and essential parts of you.  Spirit is how you express your heart and soul.  It is what you’re naturally inclined to do when you feel stress-free, secure, loving, and good.  It can be passionate or calm, and everything in between.  But most importantly it feels honest and wonderful to you when you are living life from this true and joyful place.

When we are connected to our spirit, both our body and our mind also feel alive, healthy, fearless, loving and authentic.  Spirit nourishes the body and mind, and the body and mind nourish the spirit.  This is why Spirit is considered an important key component of Health Renewal Coaching.
